Bakley's Blog

Words from my life South of the Border in Mexico City for friends and family. I intend to post artcles and other things that are funny or interesting. I am a huge soccer fan, like to cook and am currently consumed by politics. I work in finance and am busy trying to get my Spanish to the next level. Hope you enjoy.

-- Manny: "I don't believe in curse, I believe you make your own destination."

Nothing more need be said.

"A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief," said_____.

Who would have said such a thing - it must be Kerry describing the impetuous stubborn and ignorant United States President right.

Nope.

Bush describing himself while trying to attack Kerry because Kerry had the gall to blame the Commander in Chief when nearly 400 tons of high power explosives went missing in Iraq.

El Día de los Muertos

This is an article in the NYTimes about the Día de los Muertos here in Mexico (Day of the Dead). Everyone here is getting prepped for the big day. Everyone sets a table in there house with skull candles, stews, tamales, tacos, coca-cola, beer, tequila, cigarettes and whatever else they think their dearly departed might need in heaven. of course this is clearly not a Catholic way of celebrating but is a hold over from pre-Hispanic ancestral worship. My girlfriend and i are going to have a table set in our apartment for the presidency of George W Bush.
